Artist Profile
"She paints, she draws, she runs up stairs on all fours"
Amelia Farrell is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary artist and animator living on the land of the Darug and Kurringgai people. Her artworks have an emphasis on detail and realism with elements of playfulness and expression. Her main mediums are watercolour, fine-liner, and oil painting, but she is always looking to expand her artistic vocabulary and experiment with supplementary materials such as digital art/enhancement, laser cutting, lighting installation and wax. Amelia’s artworks are inspired by many aspects of the world around her, particularly people; their stories, complexities and emotions, architecture, and bees.
In addition to analogue mediums of artwork, Amelia has graduated with a Bachelor of Design in Animation from UTS. She enjoys 3D modelling and rigging but has a particular love for 3D animation. 3D animation allows Amelia to bring characters to life with personality and nuance. It is a beautiful and captivating film medium and she feels grateful to be able to create and share stories.
